Dr. Michelle Ananda-Rajah is Australia’s first Tamil Parliamentarian. Born in the UK and raised in Zambia, Michelle brings a unique, intersectional perspective to her work in Australian politics.
As a doctor-scientist specialising in infectious diseases and general physician, Michelle fought for the safety of frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Galvanised by the failings of the Morrison Government to support and listen to health care workers, Michelle, spoke up. Taking on both her profession and the Government she ensured the voice of healthcare workers around the country were heard.
